How It's Counted

What Counts as an "Active Well"?

Counted

Any well that had production data entered for the month — oil, gas, water, or any field data. If a well produced, it counts.

Not Counted

Shut-in wells, inactive wells, or wells with zero production for the month are not counted and not billed.

Adjusts Monthly

Your well count is recalculated each month. A well that comes back online gets counted again; one that goes offline stops counting.

Is there a free trial?
We don't offer a self-serve free trial, but we do offer personalized demos where you can see the full product in action with your actual basin and well configuration. Contact us to schedule one — no commitment required.
What's included in onboarding? Is there an extra charge?
Onboarding is included in your subscription — no separate setup fee. Mi4's team handles historical data migration, well database configuration, initial report template builds, and role-based training for your team (pumpers, engineers, and management) before you go live.
How many users can I add?
Unlimited. Add every pumper, engineer, manager, accountant, and executive at no extra cost. User count does not affect your price — only active well count does.
Does the subscription include Power BI dashboards?
Yes. Embedded Power BI dashboards are included for all users. Mi4 builds and maintains your dashboard library as part of the subscription. You don't need to purchase separate Microsoft Power BI licenses for your team.
What does 24/7 support actually mean?
It means phone and chat support around the clock, every day of the year — including weekends and holidays. Our support team is staffed by people who understand oil and gas production operations, not generic IT helpdesk staff.
Can I add SCADA integration later?
Yes. SCADA and automated data imports can be added at any time. Mi4 handles the integration setup and ongoing maintenance. Contact us to discuss your specific SCADA configuration and we'll scope the integration for you.
Do you offer annual pricing or discounts?
Yes. Annual commitments are available and typically come with favorable pricing. Contact our sales team to discuss a custom arrangement for your well count and contract length.
What happens if my well count changes mid-month?
Your invoice is based on the number of active wells at the end of each billing month. If you bring new wells online during the month they'll be counted in the following month's billing. Wells that go inactive stop being counted the following month.
